The films that comprise The Falcon Mystery Movie Collection Volume 2 (along with The Falcon Mystery Movie Collection Volume 1) contain the entire run of this terrific B-movie series from the 1940s originally starring George Sanders as "Gay Lawrence" alias The Falcon. Later Sanders' real-life brother actor Tom Conway would assume the role of "Tom Lawrence", "Gay's" brother.

Lots of wonderful character actors breeze through these short films (60-75 minutes in length maximum). The scripts are usually very clever and the films employ a cute gimmick: at the end of each film in the series, there is usually a teaser for the next film in the series featuring a walk-on by the female star of that next entry.

George Sanders was great as THE SAINT (also available from Warner Archives) and I enjoy him in the not too differently played FALCON, but his brother Tom Conway makes the role his own. No major studio made programmers as well as Warner, unless you're watching these RKO gems. Neck n' neck with Warner, for my money. And I don't mind spending my hard earned money on niffty little films like these, even if I'd already recorded them from TCM. Hey...I want them with nice labels, cool packaging and NO TCM "bug" every 20 minutes or so. They look great on my 46 inch screen and neat on my shelves. I've got all the Archives' SAINTs and FALCONs. Try 'em...you'll like 'em. Thanks Warner Archives.

Picture and sound quality are great.

Nice job of remastering these movies. Made them much more enjoyable to watch. Harsh lighting was eliminated with remastering. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this funny and entertaining series.

I love these old classic who doneits and especially the series movies, i.e. The Saint, The Falcon, The Lone Wolf; Boston Blackie, et al. I had The Falcon volume 1 since it came out over a year ago and was awaiting the volume 2 which I assumed would contain the remaining 6 moviesin the RKO The Falcon series starring Tom Conway who took the role over from his brother George Sanders circa 1942 in the movie titled The Falcon's Brother. These are quality transcripts clear audio and video and you will not be disappointed - worth the wait and the money. SBJ
